SCHOOL OF HEALING
Today’s school of healing is important because it restores the full ministry of Jesus to the Church, equipping believers to bring spiritual, emotional, and physical wholeness to a broken world. In a time marked by anxiety, trauma, division, and spiritual confusion, the healing ministry offers hope, demonstration of God’s power, and a tangible expression of Christ’s compassion. It trains disciples not only to believe in miracles but to walk in the authority, love, and discernment of the Holy Spirit, continuing the works Jesus promised: “Greater things than these shall you do.” Ultimately, it strengthens the Church’s witness, builds faith, and serves as a sign that God’s kingdom is present and active today.

Why Today's School of Healing is Important
Why Today’s Charismatic School of Healing Is Important: A Theological Explanation
1. Healing Is Central to the Ministry of Jesus
Healing was not a side ministry of Jesus; it was one-third of His public work.
Scripture repeatedly summarizes His ministry as:
“teaching… preaching… and healing every disease and sickness among the people” (Matt 4:23; 9:35).
A charismatic school of healing seeks to restore this threefold pattern in the Church today. If the Church is the Body of Christ, then the works of Christ should continue through His people.
2. Healing Is a Direct Manifestation of the Kingdom of God
Biblically, healing is not only a miracle—it is a sign of the inbreaking Kingdom.
When Jesus healed the sick, cast out demons, or restored the broken, He was showing that God’s reign was pushing back darkness (Matt 12:28).
A charismatic school of healing teaches believers to act as ambassadors of this Kingdom, demonstrating not only words but power (1 Cor 4:20).
3. Healing Demonstrates the Compassion and Character of God
Jesus was “moved with compassion” when He healed (Matt 14:14).
Healing is not about showmanship or spiritual performance—it is a manifestation of divine love.
Modern believers often know doctrine but lack the experience of God’s tenderness.
A school of healing trains disciples to minister with empathy, humility, and pastoral sensitivity, aligning ministry with God’s heart, not human ego.
4. Healing Confirms the Gospel Message
Throughout Acts, healing and miracles are described as God’s witness to the gospel (Acts 14:3; Heb 2:3–4).
The early Church grew not only because of preaching but because of demonstration.
Today, in a skeptical, secular world, intellectual arguments alone often do not break through.
Healing serves as an apologetic of power, validating the message of Christ with visible evidence.
5. Healing Is Part of the Gifts and Operation of the Holy Spirit
Scripture teaches that healing is a charism, a grace-gift, in the Body of Christ (1 Cor 12:9, 28).
These gifts did not end in the first century.
A charismatic school of healing helps believers:
-
discern spiritual gifts
-
grow in faith and obedience
-
steward the supernatural responsibly
-
avoid abuses, extremes, or emotional manipulation
This ensures a balanced, biblical, Spirit-led environment.
6. Healing Addresses the Whole Person: Body, Soul, and Spirit
Modern crises—trauma, anxiety, identity confusion, addiction, depression—cannot be solved by intellect alone.
Jesus heals:
-
physical sickness
-
emotional wounds
-
spiritual oppression
-
relational brokenness
A school of healing creates a safe space for inner healing, deliverance, emotional restoration, and pastoral care, meeting real human needs.
7. Healing Protects the Church from Becoming Merely Institutional
When the Church loses its supernatural dimension, it becomes:
-
a moral organization
-
a social club
-
an academic institution
A charismatic school of healing restores the apostolic DNA, reminding the Church that it is a Spirit-filled, Spirit-led, Spirit-empowered movement.
This keeps the Church alive, vibrant, and mission-focused.
8. Healing Trains Believers to Fulfill the Great Commission
Jesus commanded His disciples:
“Heal the sick… cast out demons… freely you have received, freely give” (Matt 10:8).
The Great Commission (Matt 28:18–20) includes teaching obedience to everything Jesus commanded—including healing.
A school of healing equips the saints (Eph 4:11–12) to do the works of Christ, not merely observe them.
9. Healing Builds Faith in a Postmodern, Disillusioned Generation
Many today distrust institutions, religion, and authority.
But an encounter with God’s healing power produces:
-
personal transformation
-
faith
-
repentance
-
restored identity
-
renewed hope
A charismatic school becomes a place of encounter, not just education.
10. Healing Extends the Mission of Christ into the Nations
Around the world, healing is often the entry point for missions and evangelism.
People may resist Western theology, but they open their hearts when they experience:
-
deliverance from spiritual bondage
-
freedom from fear
-
restoration from trauma
-
relief from sickness
This mirrors the ministry of Jesus and the early Church in the Book of Acts.
Conclusion
Today's charismatic school of healing is important because it renews the Church in its Christ-centered, Kingdom-oriented, Spirit-empowered mission.
It trains believers to continue the ministry of Jesus with:
-
sound doctrine
-
compassion
-
humility
-
discernment
-
practical skill
-
and dependence on the Holy Spirit.
It is not a program—it is the recovery of the supernatural life Jesus intended for His followers.
"and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed."
1 Peter 2:24
